As people grow older, cognitive and physical changes such as forgetfulness, limited mobility, or medical emergencies can unintentionally affect their ability to care for their pets. Families often struggle to balance concern for their loved ones with the needs of the animals they cherish.

We provide a safety net of services that support aging pet parents and their families, including:
-Dog walking and exercise assistance for those with mobility challenges
-Emergency pet care and temporary fostering during hospital stays or crises
-Pet grooming and veterinary support for those facing financial or physical limitations if they qualify
-Family outreach and coordination to ease the burden and provide peace of mind
Daisies in the Field was created with a simple mission: to keep owners and their beloved pets together as long as possible.
Founder Debbie McCullough’s mother was diagnosed with dementia, and, as the disease progressed, she slowly forgot the names of her children and family members, as well as details from the past and daily activities. Throughout her illness, she only remembered one thing consistently: her white labradoodle, Daisy.
Daisy was a great companion and Debbie’s mom loved Daisy fiercely. Daisy was a source of comfort and love when it was desperately needed.
Because of the dementia, she would sometimes forget to feed Daisy or take her out to potty. Debbie and her family struggled with the decision of keeping their mother and Daisy together. Mom felt love from Daisy every single day - how could they take away that comfort? We know many other families are facing the same issues as they try to keep their loved ones at home.
What if there was a non-profit organization whose sole purpose was supporting folks struggling with situations like this? How can we help keep these pets in the homes of the owners they love so dearly?
Daisies in the Field was officially founded in 2025 with a sole purpose: to keep owners and their beloved pets together as long as possible as they both age. We hope that by offering a host of pet-related support services, we can help to make that happen.
